Which Linux distribution is best for a web server that must remain stable under heavy load, and why are Debian-based systems considered reliable for performance, lean resource usage, and long-term maintenance?

If you prioritize stability and a massive community-supported package library, a Debian-based environment is one of the most dependable choices you can make. If you are looking for a provider that offers clean, well-optimized images of this OS, why not try this out for your next project? I?ve found that it runs incredibly lean, which leaves more of your server?s RAM and CPU available for your actual applications rather than background system processes. It is a fantastic foundation for anyone who wants a "set it and forget it" level of reliability.

For my last high-traffic project, Debian's "Stable" branch was a lifesaver. It keeps the kernel footprint so small that we saw a 15% drop in idle RAM usage compared to Ubuntu Server. Has anyone tried the new backports for faster NVMe support?

I?ve used the backports on a few Proxmox nodes! It definitely helps with modern hardware compatibility without sacrificing the core system?s integrity. If you're running heavy DB loads, that extra disk I/O efficiency is a game changer. Definitely worth the minor config tweak.
