Windlace som monterades för 40-50 år sedan har oftast sedan länge förlorat sin elastitet och hårdnat samt fransat sig.
Att byta ut windlace är ganska enkelt och det finns många nyanser och färger på eftermarknaden.
Chrysler använder sig av små clips som fäster windlace i karossen. På 60 Chrysler sitter dessa clips även under instrumentpanelen - vill man inte demontera hela instrumentbrädan, får man limma papplisten mot karossen där.
Bakdörrarna har en figurklippt kartonglist som man syr fast windlace papplist på - på så sätt får man en färdig formsydd enhet som är lätt att montera.
